Since Hostess announced it will be stopping production of some people's favorite snack cakes, many have been stocking up on Twinkies, Ho-Ho's, Zingers and more.

"Scary cakes, Hostess lemon cakes, chocolate cakes, we have it all," said Paul Dalba, shopper. "At 50% off, with how things are nowadays with kids, raising two little ones, you freeze this stuff."

It's a sweet bargain shoppers like Dalba say you just can't beat anywhere else.

"This is it. They've got another hour, this will probably be all empty, the shelves are almost empty now," he said.

Dalba was just one of dozens who rushed to the Hostess Outlet store Saturday morning, to get the goods before they were gone.

"When we found out Hostess was going to close, I texted my sister who lives in Maryland. She doesn't have a Hostess store, she said get me Zingers, bring them down for Thanksgiving. So that's what we did, a whole tray," said Jean Arlauckas, shopper.

Hostess favorites like Zingers were flying off the shelves. The outlet store here on West Henrietta Road hadn't even been open an hour before they were already sold out of Twinkies.

"I've heard that they are already on sale on eBay," said Tricia Monigle, shopper.

Some shoppers say they look at the closure of Hostess as the end of an era.

"This is history. I mean it's been around for generations and this is the last store in the area," said Anne Marie Powarzyski, shopper.

The store plans to close its doors once everything on the shelf is gone. Twenty-six employees at the local outlet will be laid off by the end of the month. Most of them were already let go.

"I'm very sad and very sad. I've been a loyal customer at this thrift shop for years and I've very sad to see this," said Monigle.

Although Hostess Brands says its shutting down for good, some customers still wonder if there's hope.

"Hopefully, someone will buy the company and they'll continue production," said Arlauckas.
