SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Two colleges local to Syracuse and Rochester are coming together to help students succeed.
Representatives of Onondaga Community College and St. John Fisher College met at OCC Wednesday to sign the partnership agreement. This agreement will allow students to earn an associate's degree at OCC, then have their credits transferred to Fisher where they can complete a bachelor's degree. It would cover 14 degree programs, including accounting, business administration, computer science and nursing.
College officials say this is a perfect partnership for the schools and the students.
"You know, the quality of Onondaga's programs, so that for students who are really looking for both the quality and the affordability of spending two years maybe at home, commuting to Onondaga first and then being ready to the additional two years at St. John Fisher," said Meg O’Connell, Interim President of OCC.
