ITHACA, N.Y. -- Another Cornell fraternity has had its university recognition revoked for a hazing incident.

A Cornell official says the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity will no longer be acknowledged by the university for at least four years following a hazing incident that happened last October. The university has not commented on the nature of the hazing.

This is actually the third fraternity suspension at Cornell in the last two years, one of which involved a student death.

In February 2011, George Desdunes, 19, died of alcohol poisoning. Police say he was tied up and forced to drink alcohol in a mock kidnapping by Sigma Alpha Epsilon pledges. Three members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity were charged and eventually acquitted of first degree hazing and unlawfully dealing with a child surrounding Desdunes' death.

Cornell officials suspended the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity for five years.

Also, the Sigma Pi fraternity was placed on interim suspension following an incident at their frat house last May.
