Three teens facing burglary charges for two separate incidents

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Three teenagers are facing charges after police say they were responsible for two different burglaries in Syracuse Thursday night.

The first incident happened on Stafford Avenue around 5 p.m. A homeowner called police after discovering that several items, including a gun, were missing.

Detectives decided to stop by a nearby pawn shop to see if the items had been sold, and to their surprise, they were sitting right on the counter with three young men trying to make the sale at that very moment.

Two of the boys, a 16-year-old and 13-year-old were charged. Police say the 13-year-old actually burglarized the same house two nights in a row and was in possession of the stolen gun.

Then, about two hours later, police responded to a burglary in progress at a home on Norwood Avenue. When officers showed up, the suspect ran out the front door. A 16-year-old boy was arrested after a short chase. Police say he was armed at the time and will be facing a number of charges.
