CORNING, N.Y. -- Corning Incorporated announced its best quarterly sales results in company history.
Sales in the fourth quarter of 2012 topped $2.1 billion. That's also a 14 percent increase compared to the same quarter in 2011. The strong finish also led to a two percent increase in sales for the year.
The Display Technologies segment continued to lead the company with $800 million in sales, while the Specialty Materials segment saw sales increase 68 percent to almost $400 million.
The company says despite uncertainty in the global economy, they expect LCD glass business to remain stable and growth to continue in special materials and other segments.
