BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- As President Obama's visit to the region approaches, a specific location has yet to be released. However, many people speculate Binghamton University may be playing host to the President.

University officials are remaining quiet, and said nothing is confirmed as of Thursday. But, school leaders and elected officials are certainly excited about the possibility.

"We would be thrilled if President Obama selected us as a place he'd like to visit. We don't know whether he has or not yet," said Harvey Stenger, Binghamton University President.

Senator Tom Libous added, "I can think of no better place. If he wants to talk about education and economic development this is the center right here and we're pretty proud of it."

According to the White House, the president also has plans to visit the Syracuse, Buffalo and Scranton areas. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
