SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It's a homecoming that came sooner than the Orange would've liked.
But Sunday, the team returned to the SU campus after advancing further in the NCAA than they had in ten years.
A few fans greeted players at the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center.
They said they wanted to shake their hands and congratulate the team on a hard-fought game against Michigan. A student group walking by also stopped to show their support.
And while they might not be advancing to the national championship game, fans said this was a season to be proud of.
"Oh, we love them. We love them. They went farther than anybody really expected this year. They did a great job. Good team, good kids,” said SU fan, John Amos.
Coach Jim Boeheim also shook hands with supporters who congratulated him on the Orange's run.
